Pie Crust

**Please scroll down to see my final sneak peek card for the
January CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release!**

Do you make your own pie crust? I did for a couple of years, having learned from the best: my mother. Then the kids came around and I went to the store bought kind. This past Thanksgiving I knew that my days short-cutting the desserts had seen its last day after multiple family members hinted heavily that my crusts were so much better.

January's Artful Delight Card Kit includes a Paper Smooches Stamp set so I put that to work on two cards. Even though the kit is geared towards Valentine's Day, most of the elements can be used for multipurpose, year round projects. The top card includes some of the fun patterned papers from the kit, and a sentiment from another Paper Smooches set. The following card uses everything from the kit, with the exception of a large hexagon punch.

I followed January's Artful Delight Card Sketch, which there are a few more days to play along for your chance to win a kit! Another way to win an absolutely amazing Artful Delight Kit is to send some children's Valentine's cards to Winter for her annual card drive, as Artful Delight is one of the sponsors!

As always both cards are fabulous, but that first one has me wanting my sisters homemade peach cobbler.

So cute, Karen - LOVE that first one - the colors, papers, and mix of the pie and sentiment are perfect!

Delicious card...love that pie. I think I might just have to bake a pie today with homemade crust. Love your little bee on that second card.

Both cards are, so lovely!! :) I don't make much of pies but when I do, I try and make the crust homemade. However, I know all too well about finding 'short cuts' with having kids... Yep. I've been guilty of buying premade crust. ;) Thanks for sharing!

Very cute cards! I make my own pie crusts. I always think that it takes a long time, but it really doesn't. I just make a big mess!

Way to knock the sketch out of the park...such an awesome interpretation! And...we need to trade some more recipes, but I don't think I'll ever do a handmade pie crust :)!!

I like both cards. Great LO on the first and the grey looks so good with the pink on the second.
I am with you...I used to make homemade and then switched to save time. I convinced myself that there was not much of a difference. Last month, for Christmas Eve I made mini pies and went back to making my own - so much flakier.

That's super cool that both cards use the same set but look totally different. The coloring on the pie is fab! (No, I don't make my own pie crusts....I don't even make my own pies, ha ha). The hexagons are such a great addition on the second card. It was so clever to have some as pp and some as cardstock. :)
