May Arts:: Xyron and Simple Stories

May Arts has the best collaborations and this week we are teaming up with Simple Stories and Xyron for a ton of inspiration! My two favorite past-times during the summer are baseball and reading and was happy to be able to combine these two into one project featuring amazing products from all three companies!

I started the bookmarks by adhering journaling cards from the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine Kit to a cardstock base with Xyron's Adhesive Runner. I then added the photos of my boys' in their baseball uniforms and embellished with stickers from the kit. I was able to laminate the bookmarks with Xyron's Glossy Laminate Sheets for durability and finished them by adding a tassle of May Arts Ribbon consisting of 1/4" Silk Ribbon in Yellow (SK27) and one of the new colors, Mint Green (SK98), as well as Burlap String in Parrot Green (SM46).

As usual, there are prizes up for grabs by hopping along and commenting on the designer's pages as well as the May Arts Blog. THREE prize packs consist of: Simple Stories' Good Day Sunshine Kit, a spool of May Arts ribbon (winners choice), and a 2.5" create a sticker from Xyron.

May Arts:: Tombow and DCWV

I am so very excited to be participating in this Triple Threat Blog Hop featuring May Arts Ribbon, Tombow Adhesives and DCWV paper! I swear that May Arts Ribbon, DCWV paper and Tombow Adhesives are a perfect trifecta. I created a Nautical Card Set with DCWV's Hey Sailor Stack, various textures and shades of May Arts Ribbon knotted together and all kept secure with the amazing Tombow Adhesive Tabs and glue.

I really had fun discovering some different sailor knots, and especially liked the fact that my older son helped me out.

Be sure to stop by the May Arts Blog for more details, a complete hop order, and of course, prize details! Up for grabs is three prize packs of:
  • a stack from DCWV
  • a spool of ribbon from May Arts
  • Xtreme Adhesive, Power Tabs, Removable Adhesive and Fastener Tabs from Tombow

May Arts:: Art Anthology & Basically Bare

May Arts has teamed up with two fabulous companies: Art Anthology and Basically Bare and we are coming your way with a week long hop full of inspiration!

I have a clean and simple card today, my favorite kind to make1 I started with the cool, old fashioned bare chipboard key from Basically Bare then added Art Anthology's Lava Dimensional Medium, which is a perfect combination! Once the key dried, I tied May Art's Burlap String in Ivory (SM-09) around the key in a bow and adhered behind the key a strip of May Art's 4" Wired Burlap in Natural (398-4-02) I then adhered this piece to a card base stamped with a sentiment and will be sending it over to my cousin who just bought a new home!

I really love the mixings of the products from these three companies, it is a match made in heaven! I hope you find yourself inspired too.

Here's the line up. Please stop by the May Arts Blog for  prize details and more information!

LID:: June Release Day 3

Welcome to the last day of the Lil' Inker Designs April Release! Today we are showcasing even more projects for you. Haven't the projects from all the design team members just been amazing? We are continuing with our hop today, you should have arrived from Jen's Blog!

I saved my favorite project for last! I had this idea a while back to produce this Peek-a-Boo Interactive Die, and it is finally here! To compliment the die, I designed Unscramble This, which also could be used alone as well. I first cut out out a pale yellow cardstock panel with the LID Exclusive Stitched Mats: Rectangles and then created the lifting panel with the Peek-A-Boo Die. I then created a border with the darker yellow cardstock, also cutting a lifting panel with the die. I stamped the "answer" on the white cardstock base and then stamped the "question" on the pale yellow panel. Pretty cool, don't you think? I finished the card with a big, May Arts Silk bow.

I seriously really loved all the products from this release, but then again, I love everything LID! I hope you enjoyed the release and hop too! We are saying farewell to Suzanne and welcoming new designers!

LID:: June Release Day 2

Welcome to Day Two of the Lil' Inker Designs June Release! I hoped you enjoyed seeing all the pretty projects from the team yesterday! You should have arrived from Jen's Blog if you are following the Release Hop!

I have two projects to show you today! My first project features the coordinating Pieces of Me Stamp Set and Puzzle Pieces Die Set. Love the options with these two-use them together or stand alone. I stamped a few of the puzzle pieces onto green cardstock then highlighted the panel with a few die cut puzzle pieces. I finished the card with a stamped sentiment from Pieces of Me and a simple bow of May Arts Burlap String.

My next project features the really cool, versatile and fun set called Thumbs Up! Pretty simple and straight forward design...

LID:: June Release Day 1

Woohoo! It's Day One of the Lil' Inker Designs June Release. As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you. You should have arrived from Jen's Blog!

My first project features three of the new releases! I used the really neat Scattered Sequins Die to create my own custom sequins to scatter behind a sun that has been stamped with the super cute smile stamp from Pieces of Me. After adding a paper strip, washi tape and May Arts Burlap String, I stamped as sentiment from Unscramble This, mixing two of the stamps for a custom greeting. (I found, with the help of a fellow LID Design Team Member, that to get optimal results for the sequin die with a cuttlebug is to emboss the die first with 2 B plates and an embossing mat, then run it through again using the B and C plate)

May Arts:: Avery Elle & Um Wow Studios

Three companies, three fantastic products. May Arts has teamed up with Avery Elle and Um Wow Studios for a week of inspiration, and let me tell you, there has never been a better teaming of products!

My first card features a stamped background of laurel leaves from Avery Elle's Laurels Stamp Set, as well as a sentiment from the same set. I tied the panel with my favorite card making ribbon, May Arts 1.25" Silk in Moss Green (SK08). Then I tied some super beautiful Um Wow Studios Confetti Butterflies with May Arts Burlap Natural String (SM10) and hung them from the bow. I love the whimsical feel of the floating butterflies.

My next card features the same products, except I created the card panel first by laying down some Um Wow Studio Confetti Butterflies onto a white cardstock and then misted the background for resisted butterfly images.

I then tied a large bow with May Arts 1.25" Silk Ribbon in Pink (SK17) and trimmed it with the 3/16" String Looped Ribbon (DA12). I finished the card with a stamped sentiment from Avery Elle's Laurels Stamp Set.

There's prizes up for grabs, so please be sure to stop by the May Arts Blog for more details. The giveaway is 3 prize packs of:

  • 1 Stamp Set
  • 1 roll of ribbon
  • 1 mask, flair set & layered chipboard set

LID:: April Release Day 3

Welcome to the last day of the Lil' Inker Designs April Release! Today we are showcasing even more projects for you. Haven't the projects from all the design team members just been amazing? We are continuing with our hop today, you should have arrived from Jen's Blog!

 I saved my favorite project for last, and it features once again, the Frames & Flowers Die Set! This time I used the inside/negative panel to stamp my fun sentiment from the new release, You're My Favorite Stamp Set, and then wrapped this panel with raffia around a LID Glassine Envelope! Inside the envelope I tucked in a gift card. This presentation also features die cut leaves from Frames & Flowers, and a felt flower made with the previously released LID Fringed Flower Die.

I seriously loved this release, but then again, I love everything LID! I hope you enjoyed the release and hop too!

LID:: April Release Day 1

Woohoo! It's Day One of the Lil' Inker Designs April Release. As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you. You should have arrived from Jen's Blog!

My first project features three of the new releases! I first created a wonderfully clean and simple textured background using the Quilted Stitched Pattern Die from white cardstock. I then die cut an orange panel from a previously released product, On the Diagonal Die, and stamped a custom greeting from the new set, Quick Notes. I then created an arrangement of brightly colored and absolutely fun flowers from the new Frames & Flowers Die Set!

This next card features the new die, Fold Out Star Die, in an unconventional way. First, I stamped an embossed a row of stars from the Quick Notes Set onto blue cardstock and then stamped my custom greeting, also from the Quick Notes Set. I then die cut twice-once from patterned paper and once from solid cardstock and trimmed the row of stars to fit my clean and simple card. This die is super cute to create a folded and shaped greeting, but I wanted to showcase another way to use it too!
