May Arts:: Epiphany

What a team up! Create your own clear epoxy accents with ribbon? Yes please! May Arts Ribbon has teamed up with Epiphany Crafts for a week long blog hop showcasing how products from these two companies work so well together.

With the end of the school year slowly approaching, I got a head start on teacher gifts by creating some bookmarks. I simply created a clear epoxy accent using Epiphany's Shape Studio Oval Tool and Accents and the May Arts 468 series ribbon, 2.5" Cotton Blend/Vintage Print in Garden. I then adhered a large paperclip to the back of the accent using hot glue and hid the glue with a bow of May Arts Silk Ribbon in 1/4"-SK-4 Series (Pink and Antique Gold, respectively) along with coordinating Burlap Ribbon-SM Series (Natural and Cranberry, respectively).

I also made a coordinating card using the Oval Tool and the same ribbon!

Here's a complete line-up of the hop, be sure to stop by the May Arts Blog and comment for your chance to win products from Epiphany Crafts and May Arts!

May Arts:: Spring/Summer New Release Hop

May Arts has a whole slew of fabulous new ribbons available for Spring/Summer 2015, and they have a two day inspiration hop to showcase them! I'm the last stop for the day. I received the amazing 468 series ribbon, 2.5" Cotton Blend/Vintage Print in Nautical and Garden, to showcase and I took advantage of the wide width for my projects.

My first project feature the ribbon with the trendy, vintage nautical print. This print is perfect for simple, masculine decor! I took a cleaned, tin can and covered the top portion with the nautical print and added a strip of denim ribbon on the bottom. I combined the two together with a knotted row of thick, burlap twine.

The following two projects feature how easy this wide, patterned ribbon is to use on greeting cards. I took advantage of the amazing prints and substituted ribbon for patterned paper by simply adhering the ribbon to a card base with double sided adhesive, stamping a sentiment and finishing the card with burlap string bow and knot.

As usual, there are prizes! Three winners will receive 1 roll of the new release! I hope you enjoy the hop today and tomorrow. Here's a line-up for both days, but be sure to check out full details over on the May Arts Blog!

LID:: March 2015 Release:: Day 3

Welcome back to the third and final day of the March New Release Hop for Lil' Inker Designs! The products and inspirational projects are amazing, aren't they? You should have arrived from Lea Lawson's amazing blog if you are following the hop!

My first project showcases the truly beautiful and trendy Really Rosemaling Stamp Set.

To create this look, I stamped a few basic pieces with pigment ink onto kraft cardstock. I then went back and added some shading details with colored pencils. I finished the piece by stamping a few white details and the sentiment in black, and rounded the corners. The possibilities are truly endless with this nordic inspired stamp set.

My final project of this release features our new Wonky Squares! There is an amazing incentive going spend $75 in the store and receive 25% off Wonky Squares by entering code LIDDEAL at checkout.

I created a background using the smallest and second smallest Wonky Squares and added a sentiment strip stamped from the Really Rosemaling Stamp Set.

I have one project to showcase today, but it combines four amazing new products!

LID:: March 2015 Release:: Day 1

I always love when we have a New Release Hop for Lil' Inker Designs! This March Release is exceptional, like all the others are, but truly, I adore this month's products so much! You should have arrived from You should have arrived from Lea Lawson's amazing blog if you are following the hop.

First up to show you is an adorable Easter Rabbit gift made from the Triangle Treat Hold Die with Bunny Treats Dies and Stamps Bundle (the stamps are sold separately too!). Seriously, this was so easy and quick. I die cut the treat holder, stamped the face and assembled the bunny. The treat holder is held together with some May Arts Silk Ribbon and a greeting tag made from Lil' Inkers Designs Original Sentiment Flag.

Next up I have a project that I can to take to work and switch out every now and then. It is an inspirational piece that rests on the new mini easels available at Lil' Inker Designs!

I created the mini canvas from colored watercolored paper and die cut it with the Mini Canvas Die. I stamped a sentiment from the new set, Paint Your Canvas. After assembling the die, I wrapped and tied a bow with May Arts Silk Ribbon and it rests so nicely on the mini easel. This combo perfectly meets the needs of a crafter trying out new mediums or techniques!

I'm the last inspiration stop on the hop, so your next stop would be the Lil' Inker Designs Store! As usual, there are prizes up for grabs so please be sure to leave a comment at each stop for your chance to win!

May Arts:: Faber Castell

 **Please scroll down to see my post regarding the first
Lil' Inker Designs Monthly Meet Up Challenge!!**

May Arts Ribbon has teamed up with Faber Castell for a week long inspirational blog hop! I have a few projects to show you, as products from these two companies work so well together! My first card features a textured panel. I created this panel by blending a few of the Faber Castell Tropical Gelatos together with Faber Castell's Whipped Spackle. I then laid some May Arts Burlap Ribbon in 2.5" width (398 series) over the panel and pressed the spackle into the grooves, and after a bit of drying time, carefully lifted the ribbon off the paper-leaving a lovely, weaved texture. Before attaching the panel to the card, I die cut a greeting from Spellbinders Die-D-Lites. I finished the card with a luscious bow of 1.25' May Arts Silk Ribbon in Robin's Egg Blue (SK98) and 1/4" Silk Ribbon in Yellow (SK27).

My second card features a die-cut butterfly made from May Arts  2.5" White Elastic Lace (490-25-01) colored with Tropical Gelatos. The Whipped Spackle made the lace taught enough to run through a die cutting machine! I made an antennae with May Arts 1/8" Black Silk Ribbon (SK10) and adhered it to the card that had been embellished with the same lace and another die-cut greeting. from Spellbinders.

My final project features a textured pattern tag made from May Arts  2.5" White Elastic Lace (490-25-01) and the Whipped Spackle that has been tinted with Tropical Gelatos and die-cut with a Lil' Inkers Design tag. I added a die-cut heart from Lil' Inker Designs before finishing the tag with a Spellbinders die-cut sentiment and a bow from May Arts 1.25" Silk Ribbon in Fushia (SK22) and Grape Burlap String (SM-36).

Of course, there is a giveaway as well! A $50 prize pack consisting of Faber Castell goodies and 3 rolls of May Arts Ribbon!  More details are on the May Arts Blog.

May Arts:: Valentine's Day Hop

Love is in the air with a special Valentine's Blog Hop from May Arts! The Ribbonistas have many lovely projects to get you inspired for the special day. My first card today uses the satin cut-out hearts in an unconventional way (these are discontinued but the technique works for all the amazing satin cut-out ribbons available at May Arts-check out the EX line!). I laid out three rows of these sweet hearts over a custom painted watercolor cardstock panel and applied some Shimmer Creative Medium from Imagine Crafts over the top. When the medium became slightly tacky, I slowly peeled the satin hearts from the paper and was left with a cool embossed background. I applied some distress ink around the edges and onto the panel to bring out the hearts a bit more. I then applied the panel to a kraft cardstock base, die cutting a heart, and stamping a sentiment from Lil' Inker Designs. I finished the card by wrapping some May Arts natural burlap string (SM10)  around the card and tying a bow right over the heart!

My next card features three colors of the really popular May Arts Adhesive Sequin Hearts (A478-15)! This card was soooo easy. I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn, tied three strings together of the May Arts Black Burlap String together and then adhered them to the card using the Adhesive Hearts as balloons!

I hope you have a chance to enjoy the hop and be inspired, as always there is a giveaway! Two winners will receive some ribbon, comment along the way and at the May Arts Blog!

I'm so excited about these two products! My boys went coo-coo over the Robot Builders Stamp Sets and immediately wanted to stamp some little guys of their own. I created a tooth-friendly Valentine with the Lollipop & Pencil Treat Holder Die and the Robot Builders Stamp Set! Love how you can mix and match and create your own robot! I wrapped the pencil with some May Arts Silk Ribbon, so it will be really easy for the recipient to untie the bow and use the pencil.

LID: January Release:: Day 2

Welcome back to the second day of the Lil' Inker Designs January Release! As usual, we have a fabulous hop for you featuring innovative stamps and dies! You should have arrived from Jen's Blog!

Ooh, I think today's card is so cute! I started with a white card base and then used the new Cover Up Die: Center Point Chevron to create some cool chevrons and then die cut a flag from the Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag Die Set. (I also added an extra orange detail on the bottom of the flag from the same set!) The chevrons lead to a cute little sentiment and picture from the new Perfect Pairs Stamp Set. I wanted to change this from a Valentine's card to an anniversary, engagement or wedding card so I added the die cut word "you" from Mini Envelopes and Accessories Die Set. Love that this set can extend beyond Valentine's Day!
